The role of Environment Bay of Plenty staff is to support Council decision-making and implement policy decisions.

The Regional Council is managed by a Chief Executive and has seven groups.

The groups are:

• People and Partnerships
• Technology
• Water Management
• Land Management
• Rivers and Drainage
• Finance and Organisation
